| SCRABBLE 3D (applet weights 164kb) 1. GAME RULES The words can be built in three directions in space, pieces do not fall down. The field is 9x9x9. You can put as many words as possible in one turn. You get score for just the number of pieces you dispose of in your turn, not letter values. Pieces placed - score 1 - 1 pt 2 - 3 pt 3 - 5 pt 4 - 8 pt 5 - 12 pt 6 - 18 pt 7 - 30 pt If you place any invalid letter combination, the game will not let you end your turn and highlight the combination red. If you do not place any pieces in your turn, you loose 1 pt, but all of your current pieces are replaced. When you take new pieces, each letter has a certain probability to appear (corresponds to it's frequency in English), but there is no limit to how many pieces with the same letter you can have in the game at once. Multiplayer modes allow playing in hotseat only. In 1-player mode you need to get maximal score within 30 turns by placing all pieces yourself. There is no '*' piece (which usually acts as any letter and can be then replaced by another player). The same word can be placed multiple times on the field, even within the same turn. 2. CONTROLS Press F1 or H to open help screen Left click to pick up a piece, left click to drop it. Right click to move the view. The grid shows in what layer you are. You can place pieces only in the current layer. To switch between layers click on arrows at the borders of the screen or press UP / DOWN. The game field can be sliced into layers along different axes. By default it's along Z axis, but as the field gets crowded you may wish to switch slicing by pressing W / E / R or clicking on special icons. ENTER ends turn (if no pieces were placed all of your current pieces will be replaced), ESC or Q restart game. 3. HINTS If you find it difficult viewing the field when many pieces have been placed, you may wish to start the game in the farthest corner of the field. In 3D you can attach 6 instead of just 4 pieces to a piece on the field. Switching the axis along which the layers are sliced may help when looking for vacant spots. Prefer short words, even 2-letter words like 'it', 'at', 'my' to get
rid of pieces. |
